Fayoum Governorate is a miniature image of Egypt. Some even call it the Little Egypt. Fayoum has an agricultural society and an industrial society as well as a fishing community on Lake Qaroun. • Agriculture: o The area of agricultural land in Fayoum governorate is 342750.5 feddans, with 27.6% of the total area of the governorate. Approximately 77.5% of the population lives in the countryside and most of them work in agriculture. o The province is characterized by the cultivation of traditional crops such as cotton, wheat and wild beans with an area of 189 thousand feddans, equivalent to about 24.3% of the total cropping area, as well as other crops such as maize, barley, onion, clover, Olive) Fishing: The province of Fayoum has two of the most important lakes in the Arab Republic of Egypt ( Qaroun, Rayyan lakes). The total production of fish according to the latest statistics is about 5198 tons of fish by 2.1% of the total production of the Arab Republic of Egypt • Industry: Fayoum contributes to industrial activity, where two industrial zones were established
